Envisioned as a refreshing desert haven, the upcoming pool at Lionsback Resort, anticipated to open in Winter 2026, will offer an exquisite aquatic escape. Spanning an impressive 2,100 square feet, this year-round pool will be enhanced by a soothing spa and invigorating cold plunge, promising a variety of ways to unwind and recharge.
The sprawling 6,000-plus square feet of pool deck will invite moments of sun-drenched relaxation against the majestic backdrop of the La Sal Mountains and the iconic Lionsback formation. Thoughtfully appointed men’s and women’s restrooms and showers will add to the convenience, ensuring a seamless and luxurious poolside experience.
An ongoing collaborative partnership with the City of Moab has shaped the eco-conscious construction of Lionsback Resort, leading to plans such as the Drinking Water Source Protection Plan, which ensure the preservation of the underground aquifer, while helping protect indigenous plant life.
The Lionsback Resort master plan was intentionally developed to maintain view corridors, maximize solar exposure, and promote circulation within the resort by foot or bicycle. The Casitas are clustered around the hotel, which serves as a central focal point. Their proximity helps minimize the impact to native landscape and vegetation, and allows 70% of the resort’s 175 acres to stay as open and wild as ever.

Lionsback Resort features minimal outdoor lighting to minimize light pollution and to promote residents and guests ability to take advantage of the desert’s incredible night sky and stargazing opportunities. Exterior lighting throughout the property was designed to comply with Moab’s Dark Sky Initiative.
Lionsback Casitas were intentionally designed as natural gas free, all electric, single-family homes. Induction stoves are featured in the kitchen and water vapor fireplaces are in the living room.
